Post 11: English Language Challenges

Hello everyone!
Today is the final post of the subject "English IV" and I will talk about the English language  challenges.
My experience of English at the university begins when I went to enrol the first year. I had to take an English test to see what level I would be at, but I didn't know this and I gave the test not consciously. Finally, I stayed in English 2 so I started the English course in the second semester of the first year.
I had English 2 and 3 with the teacher Victor Rubio, a very good teacher, with dynamic classes and the famous blogs, with him I learned a lot. And in English 4 I am here writing this blog, with Professor Daniel Estrada, a good teacher, who likes to teach but is above all is a good person.
During my stay at the university I have managed to learn more English and improve what I already knew. As for the blogs, they helped me a lot in writing in English, starting with mails written on a sheet of paper, and then on a computer in the computer room.
However, there are things that still cost me, especially the exercises of listening and speaking English fluently. I try to improve this by watching videos on the Internet, improving pronunciation and understanding what people say in it.
Outside of English class I use English to watch series and movies, as I prefer to watch them in their original language (with subtitles obviously) and usually the series I see are American.

I hope English has served you as well as me, classmates:)

Post 10: Changes to my study Program.

Hello everyone! Today in the final post of the course, I will talk about the "Changes to my study Program" in my career: Public Administration.
In this career we have different types of subjects, such as: Mathematics, History, Law, Statistics/Excel, among other. This variety of subjects I like since you can work as in different areas that later will serve you in the public service. I think the program is very good in general, but it has many flaws, for example the infrastructure of the university, which houses about 500 students and the space is small for so many people, also has no elevator and you have to use the two stairs to go upstairs. Another problem is the lack of technology compared to other faculties; there are not enough computers, prints, and the space in the library to study.
On the other hand we have the workload, which has become a problem this year for the stoppage in May that lasted two months, this is why the semester was shorter and there were many evaluations together. Stress appeared on the part of the students
As for the length of studies, the career lasts 5 years, and the classes an hour and a half each.
finally, the teaching method used by the teachers is very diverse, some use PowerPoint and their classes are more like high school, and others just talk in their class and you should take notes.
This is the last post of the course, and it was interesting to carry them out, I hope you liked it anyway.

Post 9: The holidays

Hello everyone! Today I will talk about "my future summer holidays".
Every summer I travel with my family to the eighth region, more precisely to Concepción, as far as I am concerned the city is very nice but it bores me to go every year where same.  This is why this summer I would like to know another place in Chile. I never traveled to the North, and I would like to know La Serena or Coquimbo with my family and tour the main places of the city.

I have no doubt that these cities are beautiful because I see many pictures of theme and I received very good opinions regarding these cities, from friends who know them. My mother and my sister want to know the bay of La Serena and the port of Coquimbo, I agree with that. On the other hand My father wants knows the stadiums of both cities and the beaches, with which I agree entirely.

Many people say that the north is ugly, because it is only desert. Others say that the people of Serena or Coquimbo are rivals. This may be true, but I would like to check it.
I would like to travel to the fourth region by car with my family, to take advantage of knowing more places along the way, although going by plane is much faster and seems a better option.
I hope you like La Serena, and if you know this city I hope your recommendations.

Post VII: Is a obesity a disease?

Hello everyone today i will talk about the question: Is a obesity a disease?
In our country the topic of diet has always been a challenge for the authorities. Nevertheless, the problem in the 60´s was malnutrition in the people for the shortage of foods. With the passing of time this situation has changing, unhealthy food companies were growing and the problem today is overweight.
The last year the national health survey was carried out, which left alarming numbers. For example, this survey tell us that 39,8% of the Chilean population is overweight, 31,2% have obesity and only 24,5% is at its correct weight.
Obesity brings with it chronic diseases since the body is not able to hold so much weight, diseases such as: insulin resistance, metabolic dysfunction that can end in a heart attack.
The authorities to see these numbers acted and created the new law of labeling which has been far from functioning and has been widely criticized by the population as its not a good solution.
Finally, I can say that obesity is a disease for the all antecedents mentioned above, besides emphasizing that once embarked on this trip its very difficult to leave, and the need help from specialists to achieve it. This challenge is still far from being overcome by the authorities.
Now its your turn, what do you think about obesity, is it a disease?
I await your comments.

Post 6: Post graduate studies

Hello everyone!

Today I will talk about Post graduate studies. Honestly, I have not thought about what I will do after finishing the career public administration. At this moment I only think about finishing the career, and being able to leave the tests of these days, can to sleep a lot, there are no more accidents on the route 78 and eternal trips from Talagante to Santiago:(
With regard to curry through a post graduate course, I would be available to do it, mainly looking for the professionalization of my person, be more qualified to enter the working world and have a better future. This course is related to the area of management and public policy in the same Universidad de Chile. Which search to improve knowledge to carry out the needs of the country on issues such as efficiency and effectiveness.
As I said before, I would like to study in Chile, in this same university, which will give me the tools to continue growing professionally.
On the other hand, I would like to experience the distance learning, It seems to me a very interesting strategy, and it would save the trip ans stress that this entails(I think I am bored with the trips jaja)
Finally, I hope don´t see statistics in a post graduate course and enjoy this post and share this course with me.

Post 5: My future job

Hello everyone!
Today I will talk about my future job. Personally, after receiving the title of public administrator, I would like to work in the Local Administration of my commune, Talagante. This work I imagine as something interesting, where I will have the opportunity to help the commune and the people around me every day. Honestly, I would like to work indoors the administration(municipality) that´s where the objectives are achieved, but with outdoor work to avoid the stress.
I have always wanted to know the different places in our country, and if it´s for work, It would not be bad. That the work has many travels. Regarding salary, it´s not a relevant matter, nevertheless, it can not be that low, because in this country everything is expensive.
After the finishing this career I have thought about my future and I would like to specialize in the are of public management, and so start the road to change thing in this country.
On the other hand, I thought about studying a second career, but with the passing of time, this idea it´s disappearing. The career of public administration so far I like, and accomplish my expectations, I hope that with the passage of time this does not change.
I hope enjoy this post and I leave the picture of my dear Talagante.
